State Cross Country Meet Information
The State Cross Country Meet will be held in Huron on Saturday, October 25th. Boys will begin their run at 1:00pm. Girls will begin their run at 2:30pm. Best of luck to our runners!
Competitive Cheer & Dance Information
Join us in sending off the Competitive Cheer & Dance team at 7:45am on October 24th! The team will travel down Logan Ave to Hwy 18 then to Main, up Main out of town. Best of Luck girls!

High school Volleyball will be headed to Plankinton to play starting with C-Team at 5pm.
The MS/HS music students have begun their fruit fundraiser, find any music student before November 12th if you would like to order!
Coming up this week: Football will be headed to Tyndal for their 9AA 1st round playoff game on Thursday, Competitive Cheer & Dance are headed to Watertown for their state comp on Friday, and Cross Country are headed to Huron for their state meet on Saturday.

The leadership quality often overlooked: BEING FIRST. First to TAKE blame. First to GIVE credit. (I paraphrased a quote I saw on a friend's Facebook post.)
Going first is a difficult thing to do. It takes bravery. It takes conviction. But it is one of the most underrated qualities for being a leader. Today, we talked about all the different ways our students can be leaders by going first.
Be first to take the blame when something doesn't go well.
Be first to give credit to others when things DO go well.
Be first to defend someone who is being bullied.
Be first to organize open gyms.
Be first to invite younger players to join you. (This will help build your team and the program for years to come.
Be first when it comes to raising a standard.
Be first to be kind.
For adults, being first can look very different. We probably don't have our own sports teams. But we have jobs. We have causes that need attention. There are always people who need love and support.
Adults can lead by being first by:
Taking the blame.
Giving credit.
Volunteering.
Reaching out to see how someone is doing.
Not just seeing a need, but taking action to address it!
Starting that project yourself and not waiting for someone else to do it.
Joining an organization to help make the world better.
Being first can be intimidating. It takes bravery. Lead by example. Be the first to take action.

The book fair is coming! It will be open in the library all week 8-3:30pm and open late on Friday until 6pm.
Our local Oral Interpretation contest will be held on Sunday, October 19th, at 7:00pm in the Gregory High School Music room.
The Gregory School District kitchen staff served up an exciting “Taste the World” menu in celebration of National School Lunch Week! Students and staff enjoyed a flavorful global lineup featuring Chicken Parmesan, Beef Yakisoba Stir Fry, Greek Gyros, and Chicken Tikka Masala. Each day offered a new opportunity to experience cuisines from around the world—without leaving the lunchroom! A huge thank you goes out to our head cook, Alicia, and her talented team, Melanie and Chelsi, for their creativity and hard work in making this week such a delicious and memorable one.

Congratulations to the Gorillas Boys Cross Country Team, Luke, Ryler, George, Issac & Robby, on their 3rd place finish at the Region 3B meet, securing them a place in the State XC Competition. Also, congratulations to Abby on qualifying for the State B girls race with an 8th-place finish. Cheers to the entire team who ran today in your race and season!
Cross Country Region 3B will be held in Burke at the Burke Golf Course starting with the girls at 1:00pm followed by boys.

Sometimes we get too worried about the big things. We work soooo hard, but then show up late. Or we run out of time in the mornings. Or we forget to send that follow-up email. Maybe we forget to do our homework. Or don't have everything we need to start the day.
It happens to everyone. We get so focused on the big picture that we forget to nail those little things. We don't do those things that are the "gimmies" in life.
Vincent Van Gogh said "Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together."
This week, I want us all to focus on the "little things."
Show up on time.
Be prepared for your day.
Set your alarm to give you enough time in the morning.
Send that follow-up email.

It is PAJAMA (& hat) DAY! With this super great cause to support one of our Gorilla families the classes are competing against eachother...If we raise $1000 the class with the most raised will get to pie Mr. Determan, if we raise $2000 they also get to pie Mrs. Anderson!
Tomorrow the HS Volleyball teams will play at home. The C match has been cancelled so the evening will start at 6:30pm with JV.
