Sometimes we get too worried about the big things. We work soooo hard, but then show up late. Or we run out of time in the mornings. Or we forget to send that follow-up email. Maybe we forget to do our homework. Or don't have everything we need to start the day.
It happens to everyone. We get so focused on the big picture that we forget to nail those little things. We don't do those things that are the "gimmies" in life.
Vincent Van Gogh said "Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together."
This week, I want us all to focus on the "little things."
Show up on time.
Be prepared for your day.
Set your alarm to give you enough time in the morning.
Send that follow-up email.
Greet those around you with a smile.
Challenge for the week: nail the little things and see how your week transforms!

Do you know someone who is a "positivity bully?" Someone who is always upbeat and chipper? How about someone who is the opposite? Someone who is always negative and thinks the world is against them? Which one would you rather be around?
Everyone knows someone who, when you're around them, they always lift people's spirits. It's impossible to be in a bad mood around them. A good mood rubs off on others.
The world can , (and wil) throw all kinds of things at us to ruin our day. Flat tires, illness, stubbed toes, spilled coffee, etc. There will always be things that happen that will try to put us in a bad mood.
But one thing the world does NOT get to choose is how we RESPOND to those things. The world doesn't get to choose how we feel about our day. That part is all up to us.
Voltaire said "The most important decision you get to make is to be in a good mood." And he's right. Choose to be optimistic, happy, and grateful. Share your good mood with others.
Challenge for the week: choose to be in a good mood. Share it with others!
Every day is a great day to be a Gorilla!
Have a fantastic week.

"One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn't as individuals." Jean Vanier.
I have said it once and I will say it a thousand more times. We live in the greatest place on the planet. We have a couple of families in the area going through difficult times. And I am always humbled and proud of how our community rallies around our own. Gregory steps up. With acts of kindness. With money. With thoughts and prayers. With their actions.
I am SO proud of the response I have seen from not only our students, but from all members of our community. This is the way it is SUPPOSED to work. Communities taking care of their own. Most recently, our student body and staff raised $3,720.73 for the Bryan boys. You may not even know who I'm talking about. They currently live in Tea, SD. But, taking the lead from staff and administration, the school put on a fundraiser. I am blown away by how our student body responded for a family they don't even know. They just knew there was a family who needed a little help and support. I hope we never lose the willingness to help out others.
Our challenge for this week: we have shown we can help out on a large scale. Now our challenge is to help out on the small scale. Find someone who needs a smile, a friend, or a kind word and reach out to them. Call someone who is going through a rough time, or someone who might just be lonely. You never know the difference a smile can make!
